Key points
  • Lebrón and Augsburger beat second seeds Galán and Chingotto 0-6 6-2 6-2, winning 12 of the last 16 games.
  • Top seeds Tapia and Coello beat Stupaczuk and Sanz 6-4 6-3 — their third win over them in three weeks.
  • Josemaría and González beat Fernández and Calvo 6-2 7-6(5) to reach the women's final against Sánchez and Ustero.
  • Sunday's finals: the women at 15:00, the men not before 17:00 local time.

The finals of the Milano P1 are set, and one of them was born from a remarkable turnaround. Juan Lebrón and Leo Augsburger lost the first set 6-0 to Ale Galán and Fede Chingotto on Saturday night, then won 6-2 6-2 to reach Sunday's final against world No 1s Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello.

From 6-0 down to the final

The second seeds, the defending champions in Milan according to Padel Hoy, were flawless in the opening set. Then the match turned completely: Lebrón and Augsburger took the second set 6-2 and the decider by the same score. "Down 6-0. Then twelve games to four," the tournament's official account summed it up.

It is the third seeds' third win over Galán and Chingotto this season. According to our head-to-head data, the two pairs have now met seven times in 2026, all in semi-finals or later, and Galán and Chingotto lead only 4–3. Lebrón and Augsburger's previous win also came in a semi-final decided in three sets, at the Málaga P1 in July.

Tapia and Coello stay on course

The top seeds were more straightforward winners in the other semi-final, beating Franco Stupaczuk and Jon Sanz 6-4 6-3. It was their third victory over the Argentine-Spanish pair in three weeks, after the finals in Rotterdam (6-3 6-2) and Düsseldorf (6-2 7-6), and they have now reached the final without dropping a set all week.

The men's final is a familiar match-up with a clear favourite: Tapia and Coello lead Lebrón and Augsburger 6–1 in their completed meetings this season (full record), and they beat them in the Paris Major and Düsseldorf semi-finals. Lebrón and Augsburger's only win came in the Brussels P2 final in April.

The women's final: Josemaría and González v Sánchez and Ustero

Second seeds Paula Josemaría and Bea González beat fourth seeds Claudia Fernández and Martina Calvo 6-2 7-6(5), avenging their semi-final defeat in Düsseldorf a week earlier. The season series between those two pairs is now level at 3–3.

They will face Ari Sánchez and Andrea Ustero, who beat the world No 1s Triay and Brea in the first semi-final. That final is evenly poised too: the pairs are level at 2–2 in their completed meetings in 2026, with Sánchez and Ustero winning the most recent, the Rotterdam P2 final (head-to-head).

Sunday's schedule

  • Women's final (15:00 local time): Josemaría/González v Sánchez/Ustero.
  • Men's final (not before 17:00): Tapia/Coello v Lebrón/Augsburger.
