The four top seeds in both draws are through to the semi-finals of the Milano P1. On Friday night Ale Galán and Fede Chingotto survived a second-set tie-break against Gonza Alfonso and Tino Libaak, and Juan Lebrón and Leo Augsburger ended the run of Javi Garrido and Juani De Pascual — setting up one of the most familiar rivalries of the season.
Galán and Chingotto hold off Alfonso and Libaak
The second seeds took the first set 6-3 but had to save their best for the tie-break of the second, which they won 7-4, according to the official results. Alfonso and Libaak, freshly selected together for Argentina's World Cup squad, had beaten eighth seeds Mike Yanguas and Pablo Lijó in the previous round and pushed the favourites all the way.
Lebrón and Augsburger stop the giant-killers
Garrido and De Pascual were the story of the week after knocking out fifth seeds Paquito Navarro and Martín Di Nenno 6-2 6-3. The third seeds needed a first-set tie-break, won 7-1, before pulling away 6-3. Padel Addict noted that Lebrón has often found left-handed opponents uncomfortable — and both Garrido and De Pascual are left-handers — but the Spaniard and his Argentine partner found a way through in straight sets.
The tournament's official account on Galán and Chingotto's 6-3 7-6(4) quarter-final win over Alfonso and Libaak.
Lebrón and Augsburger's 7-6(1) 6-3 win over Garrido and De Pascual completed a semi-final line-up of the top four seeds.
A seventh meeting of the season
Saturday's late semi-final is anything but new. According to our head-to-head data, the two pairs have met six times in 2026, every time in a semi-final or later, and Galán/Chingotto lead 4–2. Lebrón and Augsburger's last win came in a three-set semi-final at the Málaga P1 in July, decided 7-6 in the third; Galán and Chingotto won the most recent meeting, at the London P1 in August.
The other men's semi-final pits world No 1s Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello against Franco Stupaczuk and Jon Sanz, whom they beat in the finals in Rotterdam and Düsseldorf (2–0 this season). Tapia and Coello beat Fran Guerrero and Javi Leal 6-2 6-2 in 59 minutes on Friday; Stupaczuk and Sanz beat Momo González and Lucas Campagnolo 6-3 6-4.
Women: Icardo retires, Fernández and Calvo cruise
Second seeds Paula Josemaría and Bea González reached the semi-finals after only 38 minutes: Tamara Icardo, recently back from injury, retired after she and Claudia Jensen lost the first set 6-1, Padel Addict and Padel Magazine reported. Fourth seeds Claudia Fernández and Martina Calvo needed just over an hour to beat Sofía Araújo and Marta Ortega 6-1 6-2.
The two women's semi-finals are rematches of last week's in Düsseldorf. Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea lead Ari Sánchez and Andrea Ustero 6–5 this season but have lost their last two meetings, in Rotterdam and Düsseldorf (full record). Fernández and Calvo lead Josemaría and González 3–2 and won their Düsseldorf semi-final 7-6 in the third set (head-to-head).
Saturday's semi-finals
- Women: Triay/Brea v Sánchez/Ustero (from 14:00 local time), then Fernández/Calvo v Josemaría/González (not before 18:00).
