Key points
  • Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia beat Juan Tello and Maxi Arce 6-1 6-1 in 57 minutes for their fifth consecutive title and 13th of 2026.
  • The win guarantees Coello and Tapia finish 2026 as world No. 1 for the fourth season in a row, according to the FIP.
  • Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay came from a set down to beat Ari Sánchez and Andrea Ustero 3-6 6-1 6-1.
  • Triay now has 59 career titles, one more than Ale Salazar and Ari Sánchez; the FIP World Cup in Doha starts on 2 November.

Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia won the Kuwait Major on Saturday, 31 October, beating Juan Tello and Maxi Arce 6-1 6-1. In the women's final, top seeds Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay recovered from losing the first set to beat Ari Sánchez and Andrea Ustero 3-6 6-1 6-1.

Coello and Tapia: 57 minutes, five titles in a row

The final was one-way traffic. The International Padel Federation (FIP) timed it at 57 minutes, enough for the top seeds to collect another 2,000 points and mathematically secure first place in the 2026 FIP Ranking and Race, as they had done in each of the previous three seasons. It was their 13th title of the year and their fifth in a row, after Paris, Rotterdam, Düsseldorf and Milan.

The FIP's numbers underline the dominance: 23 consecutive match wins, and 44 titles from 83 tournaments together since they first paired up in February 2023. Tapia moved level with Pablo Lima on 66 career titles, third on the all-time list behind Juan Martín Díaz and Fernando Belasteguin. Coello told the FIP that "for us this has been a week in which we have fulfilled another dream", and admitted the pair had not made the best start to the year.

For Tello and Arce, the ninth seeds, the defeat does not erase a strong week. With Galán and Chingotto, the second seeds, withdrawing before the event because of Galán's injury, they took their chance in the bottom half, beating Marc Sintes and Coquito Zamora and then Edu Alonso and Aimar Goñi to reach the final, as covered in our semi-final report.

Brea and Triay turn the women's final around

Both women's pairs arrived after marathon semi-finals: Sánchez and Ustero had needed 3 hours 43 minutes to beat Paula Josemaría and Bea González 4-6 7-6(5) 7-6(4), while Brea and Triay beat Claudia Fernández and Martina Calvo 6-4 2-6 7-6(3). The third seeds started better, leading 3-0 and taking the first set 6-3, Padel Magazine reported. From the second set the momentum changed completely: errors piled up on the Sánchez/Ustero side, and the top seeds won twelve of the last fourteen games. Padel Magazine put the match length at 1 hour 56 minutes.

It was Brea and Triay's seventh title of 2026 and their second Major after Rome, and their first trophy since the Madrid P1 in September, according to the FIP. "Once again, the key was believing in ourselves," Triay told the federation.

Triay alone at the top

The title took Triay to 59 career titles, breaking a three-way tie on 58 with Ale Salazar and her opponent Ari Sánchez, both the FIP and Tennis Tonic noted. According to Tennis Tonic, 36 of those trophies came on the World Padel Tour and 23 in Premier Padel, won with Lucía Sainz, Salazar and, since 2025, Brea.

What it means and what comes next

In the men's draw, the question of the year-end No. 1 is settled; Coello and Tapia are one title short of their 2024 record of 14 in a calendar year, with the Dubai P1, the Acapulco Major and the Barcelona Finals still to play. In the women's race, the win strengthens Brea and Triay's lead over Sánchez and Ustero, their closest rivals this autumn.

The partnerships now split for a week: the FIP World Cup in Doha starts on Monday, 2 November, with Tapia and Brea playing for Argentina, and Coello and Triay for Spain. All Kuwait Major results remain on our Kuwait Major 2026 draw page.
