Fritz serves his way through

The second seed hit 15 aces and saved all nine break points he faced against Paul, IANS reported, to reach his fifth tour-level final of the season. The win matters beyond Lyon: Fritz is now 12th in the live Race to Turin, 464 points behind Rafael Jodar, who is ninth and holds what is effectively the last qualifying place this year. With Lyon, then Vienna or Basel and the Paris Masters still to play, a title on Sunday would bring him closer.

Musetti escapes

The all-Italian semi-final turned at 4-5 in the third set, when Musetti, serving, faced four match points, including two in a row from 15-40, and saved them all, Tennis Majors reported. He then raised his aggression to finish the job after 2 hours and 32 minutes. The 24-year-old, a former world No 5 who has struggled with injuries this season, will play his second final of 2026 after Hong Kong in January and is chasing his third tour title, his first since 2022. Cobolli, despite the defeat, stays fifth in the Race and in a strong position to make his Turin debut.

Griekspoor's comeback in Brussels

In Brussels, Tallon Griekspoor was two games from defeat at 3-5 in the deciding set against third seed Francisco Cerundolo, but levelled at 5-5 and won the tie-break 7-4 for a 2-6 6-3 7-6(4) victory. It is the Dutchman's seventh ATP final and his first indoors, and he is the first Dutch player to reach an indoor hard-court final on the tour since Robin Haase in Vienna in 2013, according to Tennis Majors. He will face top seed Arthur Fils or Jan-Lennard Struff. Fils, who beat Alex Michelsen 6-4 7-6 in the quarter-finals, is another player still chasing a place in Turin.

Sunday's finals

Along with Lyon and Brussels, Daniil Medvedev plays qualifier Nikoloz Basilashvili for the Almaty title. Follow all three on our tennis results page, and see the Race to Turin guide for who is already through.
