Novak Djokovic: All I will say is Rafael Nadal and I would make different requests

World No. 1 Novak Djokovic suggested that he would prefer to play Rafael Nadal in day session at the French Open.

On Friday, Djokovic overcame Aljaz Bedene in straight sets to reach the last-16 at Roland Garros.

Djokovic will be battling Diego Schwartzman in the French Open for a French Open quarterfinal place.

On the other side, Nadal takes on Felix Auger-Aliassime.

Should both Djokovic and Nadal win, they would meet in the quarterfinal.

On Friday, Nadal revealed that he “does not like night sessions” at Roland Garros.

“If you were to face Rafa in the quarters, would you rather play in the day or in the night session?” Llodra asked Djokovic.

Djokovic jokingly answered: “All I will say is Rafa and I would make different requests.”

Djokovic and Nadal likely to meet in the French Open quarterfinal

“I don’t like night sessions on clay. I don’t like to play on clay during the night, because the humidity is higher, the ball is slower, and there can be very heavy conditions especially when it’s cold,” Nadal said on Friday. “I think that makes a big difference between the way tennis is played on clay during the night and during the day.”

During his conversation with Llodra, Djokovic admitted he would like to erase the Australia visa debacle.

Djokovic wasn’t looking like himself in his first few tournaments but now is looking great and is a top French Open favorite.

“Part of me would like to erase what happened in Australia from my memory. For the first 2-3 months of the year, I didnā€™t feel balanced. In Dubai/Monte-Carlo, it was hard mentally as I really felt the unsettled energy around me. Now Iā€™m feeling on top of my game again,” Djokovic admitted.

Djokovic captured his second French Open title last year and now he is aiming to win his 21st Grand Slam.
