Tennis is ready to embrace Naomi Osaka, the true icon the WTA needs!

Former world number one Naomi Osaka has now been stopped for almost a year, since that August 20, 2022 where she was defeated in the first round of the US Open. Many things have changed since that period, Naomi overcame her mental problems and then finally a few days ago, on July 11, 2023, she became the mother of a beautiful little girl.

Tennis is ready to embrace Naomi again, the true star it needs at the WTA. She is an icon that can catalyze the attention of crowds and fans. Much more than what the current WTA rulers can do.

A few months ago, to the general astonishment of the entire circuit, the woman temporarily left tennis to devote herself to private life, announcing that she was pregnant.

Now she has finally given birth to her baby and, a few days later, she told her impressions of her to the microphones of Vogue, revealing that she wants to go back to playing soon.

She said: “I’m really excited to have the opportunity to go back to playing again. I’ve been playing tennis since I was three, I think it’s one of those things you appreciate when you take a step back. Can’t wait to play and see the fans again. Especially during the COVID period the distance has affected me a lot.”

The tennis player then said: “I followed the Australian Open a bit at the beginning of 2023 and I was almost disgusted because I had never missed the tournament. It’s difficult when this happens, I would have liked to be there but it was not possible. Of course, I wouldn’t trade the experience of being pregnant for anything in the world, but I admit it was difficult to see my colleagues playing there.”

Finally, Naomi recounted what she thinks this new phase of her career will be like, a phase that will see her as both a mother and a tennis player and the woman recalls: “I think the most exciting thing for me is just growing up with her now. We will go through this new phase of life together.”

Naomi is thrilled and can’t wait to get back to her life as a tennis player. In the course of her young career, the former world number one won four Grand Slam titles and found numerous successes. Now she will try to come back and try again to win.
