Kyrgios’ girlfriend ‘heartbroken’ after the Wimbledon news

Kyrgios, who skipped the first part of the 2023 season after undergoing knee surgery, returned to action in the first week of the grass season in Stuttgart. After losing his opener in Stuttgart, Kyrgios was forced to pull out of Halle and Mallorca. Kyrgios came to Wimbledon with the intention to play but that just wasn’t possible.

“Hey everyone, I’m really sad to say that I have to withdraw from Wimbledon this year. I tried my hardest to be ready after my surgery and to be able to step on the Wimbledon courts again. During my comeback, I experienced some pain in my wrist during the week of Mallorca. As a precaution I had it scanned and it came back showing a torn ligament in my wrist. I tried everything to be able to play and I am disappointed to say that I just didn’t have enough time to manage it before Wimbledon. I’ll be back, and as always, I appreciate the support from all my fans,” Kyrgios announced on Sunday night.

Kyrgios’ focus will now turn to solving his wrist injury and being ready to return during the North American hard court swing. After missing the first three Grand Slams of the 2023 season, Kyrgios definitely won’t be wanting to miss out on the US Open as well. It remains to be seen when will Kyrgios return to action.
