Stefanos Tsitsipas reveals latest in Paula Badosa Wimbledon participation status

Stefanos Tsitsipas suggests that Paula Badosa is doing everything in her power to be ready for Wimbledon.

Tsitsipas, 24, and 25-year-old Badosa are the newest tennis couple and they have been practicing together on the grass in recent days.

Badosa, who suffered a stress fracture in her spine, has missed all grass tournaments leading up to Wimbledon.

But she is still fighting to be ready for Wimbledon.

ā€œThat’s a question you have to ask Paula, but if I had to say something it’s that she has a lot of determination and I wouldn’t be surprised if she plays,” Tsitsipas told AS.

Tsitsipas hopes Badosa will be able to play Wimbledon

Badosa has been hit with bad luck a couple of times this year.

At the start of the season, Badosa was forced to miss the Australian Open after sustaining an injury.

Then, just as Badosa appeared to be in fine form before the French Open, she was struck with another injury and had to also skip the second Grand Slam of the season.

“Just when everything seemed to be fine again, I received bad news just before start of a Grand Slam. At the tournament in Rome, I suffered a stress fracture in my spine. It has been very hard news after such a difficult start of the season with injuries. This is going to keep me out of the competition for some weeks. Thanks to all of you who are with me no matter what. I’ll keep you updated,” Badosa announced just before the start of the French Open.

Now, Badosa is in the race against time to be fit for Wimbledon.

For Badosa, missing a third Grand Slam in 2023 would certainly be devastating.

Last year, Badosa made the Wimbledon round-of-16 before losing to Simona Halep.

Hopefully, Badosa will manage to compete at Wimbledon this year as well.
