Carlos Alcaraz in doubt for Wimbledon 2023? The Spaniard, in mutual agreement with his staff led by coach Juan Carlos Ferrero, has made his final decision: the Spaniard will not participate in the Hurlingham exhibition tournament, which precedes the start of the London competition by a few days. Still a lot of precaution to avoid further complications on a physical level, which could condition the adventure in the third Grand Slam of the season.
The young Spanish player had announced in recent days that he would give up the battle against Holger Rune, scheduled for Wednesday 28 July. In the last few hours, however, the confirmation of his absence also arrived for the other match scheduled with the Austrian Dominic Thiem for Friday 30 June.
The calendar underwent this type of variation after the important victory obtained in the ATP 500 at Queen’s, which led the Iberian to greater physical effort than perhaps one might have expected.
The world number one will rest until his debut date and will continue to train on the London grass to gain more and more confidence with this surface, on which he doesn’t have a huge experience.
Although there are no worrying alarm bells, doubts are growing among the Spanish fans about the physical fitness of their favorite: given the precedent at Roland Garros in which he was stopped by cramps in the semifinal against Novak Djokovic (a rematch in London could only in the final), Alcaraz will have to be in top form to be able to think of pushing himself to the end of the draw and fighting for the title.
Alcaraz should be present at Wimbledon, but some doubts remain about his real physical form. Can he really risk missing the London Grand Slam? There could be some possibility, and on the eve of the Championships, an official update should arrive in the next few hours.
Alcaraz ambassador of Louis Vuitton
The Spanish tennis player is adding new sponsors, thanks to the numerous successes he is achieving in the ATP circuit. The latest, quite recent, is Louis Vuitton.
The French company has communicated on social media that Carlos Alcaraz will be its new ambassador, thus joining other brands that already sponsor it such as Nike, Babolat, Rolex, Isdin, BMW or the Region of Murcia.
