Daniil Medvedev was eliminated in the first round of the Roland Garros by the Brazilian Thiago Seyboth Wild, hero for a day after this sensational victory in five sets against the best player of the year (certified by the Race ranking towards the ATP Finals).
The results obtained on clay were of great depth and exceeded the expectations of many insiders. However, the conclusion of this part of the season was not exciting and worthy of the journey made from Monte-Carlo to Paris.
The Moscow native became the protagonist of a new curtain with the crowd during the challenge. It all happened after the Brazilian hit the line, even if Medvedev was not convinced of the call and stopped for a long time to look at the mark, believing that the ball was out.
The umpireĀ came down to check, confirming the initial decision and giving the point to Seyboth. The Russian wanted to ask the chair umpire for further explanations and the spectators began to boo him. Given the reaction, Daniil with a nasty gesture ordered the fans to be silent, putting his index finger to his mouth.
The amount of boos (naturally) increased immediately after this action of the Russian champion. Here is the video released by Tennis TV.

The first surprise of this Roland Garros was in factĀ unexpectedly given by Daniil Medvedev.
The turning point, the initial one, is in the second set, when the number 172 in the world finds himself with two set points, to put a foot and a half towards an unpredictable second round. The number two in the world, however, clings to his game, which manages to be constant only for two partials.
In the fifth it is a lottery: the one who has the most courage wins it, that is the Brazilian tennis player, who also gives himself his first victory in a Grand Slam.
