In the quarter-finals of the WTA Stuttgart 2022, Iga Swiatek defeated Emma Raducanu in straight sets with a double 6-4, despite a hard-fought second set, qualifying for the semifinals of the German tournament, where Iga will meet Liudmila Samsonova.
The British tennis player showed excellent tennis on clay-court, playing an excellent match against the Pole number one in the WTA ranking, which at the moment seems to be a step above all her rivals. For Swiatek this is her thirtieth victory out of thirty-three matches played in 2022.
For Raducanu this was probably the best match of the season, where she showed a very solid backhand and great timing, launching (hopefully) very good signals for her future this season.
Swiatek played a perfect match, like a true world no.1, also obviating some problems shown especially in the second set, also due to the good performance of her rival.
