Rafael Nadal has announced that he will miss the 2023 Monte Carlo Masters due to an ongoing injury to his left hip.
Nadal, who last played in the second round of the Australian Open earlier this year, shared the news on Twitter, stating that he is not yet at the level required to compete at the highest level. This marks the second consecutive year that Nadal will be absent from the Monte Carlo tournament, after also missing the event in 2022.
The 23-time Grand Slam champion’s absence has caused a drop in his rankings, with him currently ranked 14th in the world. Despite this setback, fans and commentators alike are eagerly anticipating his return to top form.
