WTA World No.1 Ashleigh Barty has announced her retirement from tennis.
Watch the Australian’s last WTA match point and trophy ceremony from the Adelaide International 2022 final against Elena Rybakina, where she won her penultimate singles title before going on to win her third Grand Slam singles trophy at the Australian Open just weeks later on home soil.
In all, she collected 15 titles in singles and 12 in doubles – more than any other active player in that span.
The 25-year-old’s current reign of 114 consecutive weeks at the top is the fourth-longest streak in the history of the Hologic WTA Tour.
We will dearly miss watching her talent on court.
