PHOTOS: Guido Andreozzi wears designer brand in Acapulco match with Casper Ruud

World No 342 Guido Andreozzi came out stylish for his Acapulco match against Casper Ruud as he wore designer brand LALÁ.

On Monday, qualifier Andreozzi nearly upset two-time Grand Slam finalist Ruud.

Ruud, ranked at No 4 in the world, managed to fend off Andreozzi, beating the Argentine 6-4 4-6 7-6 (2).

Many expected Ruud to have an easy job against Andreozzi but the 342nd-ranked Argentine didn’t go down without a big fight.

Ruud survived the Andreozzi challenge

Andreozzi started the match extremely well, breaking Ruud in the very first game of the match.

Ruud managed to get the break back in the fourth game but Andreozzi broke the Norwegian again in the seventh game to open a 4-3 lead.

Down by a break, Ruud responded by claiming back-to-back breaks in the eighth and 10th games to overturn the deficit and win the opener.

After losing the first set, Andreozzi started the second set with an early break.

Andreozzi got broken back in the sixth game but he broke Ruud again in the ninth game, before serving out for the second set in the following game.

The third set started like the previous two as Andreozzi broke Ruud in the first game of the second set.

However, Ruud managed to break back Andreozzi in the second game and the third set went into a tie-break after no more breaks were seen.

In the tie-break, Ruud opened a 6-1 lead before converting his second match point.

After the match, Ruud admitted that Andreozzi made it a very difficult contest for him.

“Confidence wise I have felt better because it is my first match in five, six weeks. You are kind of wondering where your level is at. Today it was a little bit up and down. I played some good tennis but I think Guido made it difficult for me. When you are playing a player like him, it can be sort of easier for him to play without pressure. He can feel free, let loose,” Ruud said after the match.
