The Spaniard, who had already withdrawn before the semifinal against Daria Kasatkina at the Adelaide International 2 due to pain in her adductors, was also forced to give up the first Grand Slam of the year. The injury had already revealed itself in the quarterfinal match, against Beatriz Haddad Maia. In place of Badosa, the Brazilian lucky loser Laura Pigossi entered the draw.

Badosa also had a difficult start to her career due to mental health problems, but in the last two years she has had great growth and achieved great results. During the interview, the young Spanish tennis player once again revealed how the 36-year-old from Mallorca has always been her idol.
