Australian Open: Andy Murray wins TOURNAMENT POINT!

A historic match both for the duration and for the closing time. Andy Murray and Thanasi Kokkinakis gave life to a truly incredible and intensely emotional match also for the large crowd in the stands, who remained until the end of the spectacular and tantalizing challenge.

The Briton was able to completely turn the match around, after losing the first two sets (6-4, 7-6): with great determination and a mad desire to fight, the Scotsman began his comeback, winning the tie-break of the third set and charging up to beat the home favorite in five very hard sets.

During the race there were many exchanges that ignited and sent the spectators into ecstasy. Among these, a precise exchange saw the former world number one prevail, after an exceptional defense. Thanasi was able to go to the net but not to close after several attempts with the smash: a long recovery in lob by the Briton remained in the field and at that point Kokkinakis was led into error.

At the end of the crazy 15,Ā Kokkinakis slammed his racket to the ground, while Murray charged in and cheered for his big point. The video was immediately released on social media from the official Australian Open page.

Australian Open: Andy Murray wins TOURNAMENT POINT!

After the battle in five sets against Matteo Berrettini, Andy Murray became the protagonist of another beautiful feat against the home tennis player.

At 35 and despite the many physical problems faced in recent seasons, the Englishman proves that he still has something more in prestigious appointments and still wants to achieve satisfactory results in the ATP circuit. Now in the third round he will face the Spanish Roberto Bautista Agut.

The two-time Wimbledon winner strongly disagrees with playing at 3 or 4 in the morning ā€œI don’t know who benefits. In a match like that, yes, we come here after the match, and that’s what we discuss, instead of talking about the epic match between Murray and Kokkinakis.

Incredibly people stayed to the end. I really appreciate that people do it, creating a great atmosphere, but there are people who have to work the next day and these are not suitable hours. If my child was a kid playing soccer for a tournament and came home at 5am, I would be pissed as a parent. It’s not beneficial to them. It is not beneficial to referees and match officials.
