World No 2 Ons Jabeur has signed with Evolve, Naomi Osaka’s sports agency.
Osaka, a four-time Grand Slam champion, co-founded Evolve last year along with her long-time agent Stuart Duguid.
In June, Nick Kyrgios signed with Evolve.
Now, Osaka’s sports agency is set to represent another major tennis name.
āI am very excited to work with Adel and Evolve. Together, I believe they have the profile and experience to take me to the next level,” Jabeur said in a statement.
Evolve thrilled to have Jabeur on board
Last year, 28-year-old Jabeur made two Grand Slam finals and wrote tennis history in the process as she became the first Arab woman to reach a Major final.
In 2023, Jabeur is hoping to go a step further and become the first Arab ever to win a Grand Slam.
āOns is an ideal Evolve client. As an Arab woman from Africa, she is a trailblazer and a truly captivating tennis player. Her influence extends beyond sports and into wider culture. Her impact on the Middle East and beyond is transformative,” Duguid said in a statement.
Many believe that Jabeur’s success will lead to more African and Arab kids picking up a tennis racket to play the game.
Also, Jabeur is someone who has a good reputation and is considered as a great role model to kids.
With that being said, Evolve is thrilled to represent someone like Jabeur.
āThere are tremendous opportunities for Ons in the Arab world, and she is also poised for global breakthrough. Alongside Nick Kyrgios, I believe she will be a standout star in the Netflix series, Break Point,” Stuart added in his statement.
Meanwhile, Jabeur kicked off her 2023 season at the Adelaide International.
Jabeur, who is the top-seeded player in Adelaide, had a first-round bye before defeating Sorana Cirstea 7-6 (3) 6-1.
Jabeur would certainly love to start her season with a title.
