Iga Swiatek reacts to clinching double-bagel win for BJK Cup Finals

World No. 1 Iga Swiatek came up big for Poland to help their side reach the Billie Jean King Cup Finals.

On Saturday, Swiatek double-bageled Andreea Prisacariu 6-0 6-0 to seal victory for Poland over Romania.

“I’m really proud. I worked really hard for this. Although I didn’t play last year, I think it was a long road and it took us a few years to progress step by step and qualify for the finals,” Swiatek said after the win was sealed.

Swiatek has now won her last 19 matches

On Friday, Swiatek dominated Mihaela Buzarnescu 6-1 6-0.

A day later, Swiatek produced a perfect performance as she didn’t drop a single game en route to beating Prisacariu.

“It shows what a strong team we are. Hopefully we will show more progress in the final and be successful.” Swiatek added.

Swiatek hasn’t lost a match in a while as she made it all the way in Doha, Indian Wells and Miami.

Swiatek arrived to the Billie Jean King Cup on a 17-match winning streak.

Now, she has extended her winning streak to 19 matches.

Recently, Swiatek opened up on the life as the new world No 1.

“So, here we are. One day I’m just 100 percent focused on my performance during another match and the next day I’m realizing how to live as No. 1. It’s a lot to take in and I’m working through it day by day at my own pace. It will take some time but on the other hand I’m very excited. There last few weeks were interesting, crazy and hard-core but I’m happy that I was also able to have some quality time in Miami after the final. Now it’s time to get back to work,” Swiatek wrote in a message posted on her Twitter account.
