Tiger Woods, tennis

No one knows who will have the skin of Serena Williams who decided to hang up the racket after the US Open 2022.

After advancing through the first round, the 40-year-old got rid of No. 2 seed Anett Kontaveit 7-6 (7-4) 2-6 6-2 last night at Flushing Meadows.

605th player in the world, she is therefore still in the running to win her seventh US Open and her 24th Grand Slam title in singles.

And Serena was not lacking in courtside support. Among the many spectators, Tiger Woods was there and did not hesitate to shout encouragement to the one who has great admiration for him.

“He’s one of the reasons I’m here, one of the main reasons I’m still playing,” Serena Williams said after her victory. “We talked a lot. He was really trying to motivate me. When you can count on someone like that, I mean, it’s Tiger Woods, it’s easier to see through it.”

Sitting not far from Venus Williams, Serena’s sister, Tiger Woods who does not hide his great admiration for Roger Federer did not miss anything from the meeting.
