23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams is going out in style as she is set to wear a figure skating-inspired Nike outfit and her NikeCourt Flare 2 shoes feature a diamond-encrusted Nike logo and solid gold lace deubrés with 400 hand-set diamonds.

Williams’ shirt is featuring six layers, which is a homage to her six US Open titles.

In about an hour and a half, Williams will kick off her final US Open.

For the final tournament of her career, Williams wanted a special outfit and Nike has certainly made sure to make the American happy.

“Historically, Serena’s love for, and training in, fashion has informed breathtaking, defining looks. For her latest outfit for Flushing, Serena took control, providing the full vision and dialing the details for a thrilling design created to make her feel comfortable and confident,” Nike said in a statement.

Williams set to face Danka Kovinic

In the US Open first round, Williams faces 80th-ranked Kovinic.

Kovinic has lost her last five matches and Williams will certainly like her chances versus the Montregrin.

When Williams and Kovinic meet, it will be their first meeting.

Over the weekend, Kovinic called Williams “an icon” and admitted that there will definitely be pressure on her to deliver since she is aware the whole world will be watching her match versus Williams.

“Serena is an icon. If I wasn’t playing her on Monday, I wouldn’t have all this attention. I’m aware of that. So it’ll be a very nice experience and, at the same moment, maybe a little bit stressful. Of course I will feel pressure. But I will try to turn it into something positive,” Kovinic said.

Williams is just 1-3 since making her singles return at Wimbledon.

But Kovinic hasn’t played well either and Williams is considered as the favorite going into the match.

It remains to be seen how far can Williams go in her final US Open.
