Daria Saville sneaks on Nadal and Medvedev at gym

WTA number 72 Daria Saville, formerly Gavrilova, trained near top ATP players Daniil Medvedev and Rafael Nadal, who were doing seated biking. Motivated by their example, Daria also started to bike before she posted the moment on one of her Instagram Stories.

“If they bike, then I bike too,” wrote Daria Saville.

Saville missed her chance at Cincinnati

Daria Saville appeared to be unhappy as Bianca Andreescu withdrew out of the event late from Cincinnati, denying her a chance to play. Andreescu withdrew from Toronto after the draw had already been announced, citing a “change in schedule.”

Saville would have made the main draw as the first alternate if Andreescu had withdrawn from Cincinnati before the qualification matches began.

“I am not even salty, but yea happens all the time,” Saville tweeted. In another tweet, Saville wrote: “If anyone form main draw pulls out before qualifying matches start then players from the alternate list get in. Matches started today at 10 so had to be just before then. And I was first alternate.”

Despite Andreescu invoked reason, Andreescu seemed to be fighting with respiration and conditioning concerns against Kasatkina in the first round last week in Toronto. “I genuinely did not feel good. Dizzy and nauseous. Nothing to do with my back, thankfully but I definitely did not mean to cause any harm/distraction or whatever ppl (people) have been calling it to my opponent or anyone in that matter. I really wanted to push through, this is the court I grew up on and no was not an option for me tonight. It just makes me sad to see that ppl (people) really believe that. Us athletes go through injuries, sickness etc, the last thing I want to do is put more of that energy in the air especially if it’s fake?!?! Doesn’t make sense. Yes, I wish I was able to not show it but I am human, too, at the end of the day,” said Andreescu.
