Rafael Nadal is hoping to be ready for the start of the North American hard court swing and his outfits for this summer have been revealed.

Nadal, 36, is hoping to play his first summer hard court tournament at the Montreal Masters, which takes place between August 7-14.

The week after the Montreal Masters, the Cincinnati Masters is scheduled to take place.

If everything goes as planned, Nadal will finish his summer hard-court swing at the US Open.

Nadal hoping to be ready for the start of the summer hard court swing

Nadal last played at Wimbledon, where he reached the semifinal before he was forced to give a walkover to Nick Kyrgios.

Nadal was hampered by an abdominal injury during his Wimbledon quarterfinal versus Taylor Fritz but was able to finish the match and win in five sets.

The following day, Nadal underwent scans, which revealed an abdominal tear.

After consulting with his doctors, Nadal realized winning two best-of-five-sets matches with that type of injury was almost impossible.

Also, Nadal didn’t want to risk further aggravating his injury and then being out for an extended period.

“I can’t imagine myself winning two matches and for respect to myself in some way I don’t want to go out and not be competitive enough,” Nadal explained at Wimbledon. “A couple of weeks ago I saw my career very different because of the foot injury. The most important thing is happiness more than any titles. I can’t risk that match and stay two or three months out of the competition. I am very sad and it is a very tough one.”

Even though Nadal didn’t win Wimbledon, it has still been a very successful year for him.

After winning the Australian Open and French Open, Nadal will certainly be aiming to lift his third Grand Slam title of the season at the US Open.

It remains to be seen if Nadal will be ready for the start of the summer hard court swing.
