The seven-time Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic is safely through into the fourth round at the All England Club. Novak took down the fellow Serb Miomir Kecmanovic 6-0, 6-3, 6-4 in an hour and 52 minutes for a place in the last 16. Novak is now 82-10 at Wimbledon, and he will face Tim van Rijthoven in the next round. The defending champion hit 36 winners and 19 unforced errors and claimed 32 points more than the younger compatriot. Djokovic served at only 49%, which was hardly noticeable on the court. Miomir converted one break chance in the encounter’s closing stages, but that was not enough to prolong the clash. Novak took half of the return points and turned them into six breaks from 14 opportunities to control the scoreboard and sail into the next round.

Djokovic saved three break points in the opener’s third game and grabbed three breaks of serve for a bagel. Novak served well in the second set and kept the pressure on the other side. Miomir followed that pace after fending off break points in games two and six to lock the result at 3-3. Djokovic grabbed a break at 4-3 and held at 15 in the next one to build two sets to love advantage and move closer to the finish line. Novak broke in the third set’s third game and served well to open a 4-2 gap. He grabbed another return game to forge a 5-3 lead, and Miomir pulled one break back when Novak served for the victory in game nine. Kecmanovic reduced the deficit to 5-4 before Djokovic sealed the deal on his serve in game ten.
