The incoming Hologic WTA Tour World No.1 won her 17th(!) match in a row and her third consecutive WTA 1000 title with a straight-sets win over Naomi Osaka in the Miami Open final.
She joins Steffi Graf (1994 & 1996), Kim Clijsters (2005) and Victoria Azarenka (2016) as the only WTA Sunshine Double winners in history by winning Indian Wells and Miami in the same season.
The 20-year-old did so by getting past Viktorija Golubic, Madison Brengle, Coco Gauff, Petra Kvitova, and Jessica Pegula before defeating former World No.1 Osaka in only their second meeting against each other.
Swiatek stands alone as the first player to win the first three WTA 1000 tournaments in a season (also Doha). It was her fourth career WTA 1000 title and the sixth singles title overall.
