Marat Safin Joins Andrey Rublev’s Coaching Team for Clay Season

Two-time Grand Slam champion and former World No.1 Marat Safin is stepping into an official advisory role for Andrey Rublev, according to Russian media outlet Bolshe.

Safin and Rublev

While Fernando Vicente remains Rublev’s primary coach, Safin will provide additional strategic guidance, particularly during the 2025 clay-court season. The partnership will debut at the Monte-Carlo Masters, where the World No.9 looks to turn his season around after a recent slump.

Rublev has often credited Safin for his mentorship, with the Hall of Famer helping him navigate both personal and professional challenges.

Marat Safin’s Legacy & Rublev’s Ambitions

Safin, a 15-time ATP Tour champion, claimed his Grand Slam titles at the 2000 US Open and 2005 Australian Open. His experience could be invaluable for Rublev, who has 17 ATP titles but is still chasing his first major semifinal appearance.
