Novak Djokovic Will Open 2025 Season in Star-Studded Brisbane Field

The 24-time major champion begins his quest for 100 titles at Brisbane, starting December 29.

24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic will open his 2025 season at the star-studded Brisbane International.

The tournament announced its field on Wednesday. Andy Murray, Djokovic’s new coach and a two-time Brisbane champion, is not expected to be in attendance.

“I’m excited to be kicking off my Australian swing at the Brisbane International and to compete again at Pat Rafter Arena,” said Djokovic, who will be seeking his 100th tour-level title.

Djokovic last played in Brisbane in 2009.

Set for December 29 to January 5, Grigor Dimitrov, Holger Rune, Frances Tiafoe and Nick Kyrgios are also on the entry list.

Djokovic, who did not win a Grand Slam title in 2024 for the first time in seven years, went 37-9 in 2024 and claimed Olympic gold in Paris.

He enters the season with an all-time record of 1124-222. He will bid for his 25th major and 11th Australian Open title in Melbourne – the Australian Open kicks off on January 12.
