US Open Fan Week Sets Record Attendance, Boosting 2024 Tournament to New Heights
NEW YORK—Tennis fans were the real winners at Flushing Meadows last week, as the 2024 US Open Fan Week welcomed a record-breaking 216,029 visitors to the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
The largely free event, with some ticketed stadium matches, saw a remarkable 37% increase in attendance compared to 2023, the USTA announced today. This surge puts the 2024 US Open on track to surpass the ambitious goal of 1 million fans over the tournament’s three-week span.
Fan Week 2024 Highlights:
- Digital Engagement: Over 2 million devices accessed USOpen.org and the US Open app during Fan Week.
- Gaming Success: Tennis Storm, the exclusive Minigame Box PVP Fortnite game for the US Open, attracted 3.5 million players and over 430,000 matches.
- Fan Interactions: Nearly 205,000 fans registered for the Fan Access Pass, leading to 233,000 total on-site engagements.
- Giveaways: 15,000 unique Marvel comic books and 10,000 Wilson youth tennis racquets were distributed to fans for free.
- Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day: Saturday’s event set a new attendance record with 47,875 participants.
