She also talked to the magazine about what it means to become the first woman to successfully defend the womenās singles title in Melbourne since Victoria Azarenka in 2013.
āI think the best thing was I was able to handle pressure really well and compete at such a high level with all the pressure, which was the best thing I did over the last couple of weeks,ā Sabalenka told Vogue.

The two-time major champion says it was tough to ignore the pressure, because it was a topic she simply couldnāt avoid.
āYou try to ignore it but you see your pictures everywhere,ā she said. āLike, every interview you get these questions about defending the title. You try to ignore it but still itās in your head. For two weeks youāre really fighting with yourself inside, trying not to let these doubts come into your mind. Itās been a really tough couple of weeks and Iām really happy I was able to get through.ā
