US stars Ben Shelton and Jessica Pegula shine on Vanity Fair shooting!

The US stars Ben Shelton and Jessica Pegula shined in a recent photoshoot for Vanity Fair. Together with them, there were the best American players, including Frances Tiafoe, Tommy Paul, Sebastian Korda, Maxime Cressy, Mackenzie McDonald, Madison Keys, Shelby Rogers, Alycia Parks and Danielle Collins.

Breathtaking, super fashionable outfits that exuded beauty, elegance and sensuality. Shelton also took the opportunity to joke with his fans on Instagram, writing: “Part-time job!”

Vanity Fair wrote in the post: “Frances Tiafoe. Jessie Pegula. Madison Keys. Tommy Paul. The current field of American pro tennis players is the most exciting, talented, and varied we’ve seen in decades, men and women alike. This new crop’s swagger makes them stand out: their feeling that American tennis history is just that history and their determination to write themselves into it.

They’re alchemists, blending the best of what has come before and sloughing off weighty expectations that have burdened past generations. They’re activists, leading the conversations around equality, inclusivity, and mental health that push the game to be better. And they’re inventors, making the game their own. On the eve of the US Open, VF takes a closer look at the emerging talents of American pro tennis.”

Jessica Pegula’s words after Montreal triumph

Jessica Pegula won the National Bank Open, WTA 1000 in Montreal. The US defeated Liudmila Samsonova in straight sets in the final.

In the post-final press conference, the American explained, also referring to her opponent’s physical condition: “I know that physically she wasn’t at her best, but I played and I think I had an excellent match. In fact, I made few mistakes and I can say: I played the perfect game. I was playing loosely on my serve and more aggressively on my return, I got it all right and I can only say, it’s a beautiful day.”

Jessica made it clear on the court that she would have liked to win another way and in the conference she explained: “My opponent had a crazy schedule, and she too played a few hours before the final. She’s not ideal even if not much could be done, unfortunately it’s just a matter of weather and scheduling didn’t help, she didn’t go in her favor. It’s difficult when you’re in this condition, she’s a great player and I’m sure we’ll find her fighting again.”

Then Jessica talked about her results and her great continuity, with this year she returned to number three in the world: “It’s a great feeling to get these results, I’ve been very regular with finals, semifinals and some quarterfinals.

I worked a lot and beating players like Gauff or Iga Swiatek in consecutive matches is not easy. It’s true that I’ve never had many points to defend and therefore I didn’t have a lot of pressure, but I’m fine. Sometimes tennis can be hard on you, we play every week to win and unfortunately you often lose.

We play many matches without winning tournaments but this week makes you realize that it was worth it. Now I can’t wait to leave again and will go to Cincinnati immediately. Here the fast courts and the public helped me and now I want to continue like this.”
