After three Grand Slam tournaments, there are only 4months to arriva at the ATP Finals, the year-end Master in Turin, Italy. There are athletes who have already obtained the pass for the ATP Finals: obviously we are talking about the number one in the world Carlos Alcaraz, the new Wimbledon winner.
If it’s official for him, there are those for whom it’s now a mere formality like the current number two in the Race Novak Djokovic. Both he and the Russian Daniil Medvedev are one step away and we are quite certain that they will be three athletes (injuries permitting) that we will see at the ATP Finals in Turin.
Medvedev has a few more steps to take but seeing as we are about to enter his period par excellence, he is a really big favourite. In fourth place after these Big Three there is a great fight and this week Andrey Rublev climbs: the Russian won the Bastad tournament and thanks to this victory he overtook Stefanos Tsitsipas, Jannik Sinner and Holger Rune in one fell swoop.
The Race ranking to the ATP Finals got an important change
The Itralian has decided to take a rest period in view of the American 1000, but now he can no longer fail and now the priority is to do well in the two tournaments, thus bringing safety closer.
Then of course there will be the US Open and in any case Sinner currently has over 1000 points ahead of Taylor Fritz, currently ninth in the Race: Jannik must take advantage of this good advantage to keep his position in view of Turin.
Immediately out of the Top-10, Tommy Paul and Alexander Zverev overtaking Cameron Norrie, with the German who despite everything is in twelfth place and is still in the race, cultivating hopes. With the Bastad semifinal, Lorenzo Musetti gains three positions and is close to the Top 20.
At the moment the upper floors are very far away but this small result guarantees confidence in view of the future and perhaps with an exploit things can change. Great leap also for the Frenchmen Adrian Mannarino and Ugo Humbert, both entered in the Top-30 and who bring good news to transalpine tennis.
