Chris Eubanks and France Tiafoe discussed how great is to have celebrities like Jamie Foxx supporting from the stands during the UTS talk-show All on the Table. Famous actor Jamie Foxx gave a pep talk to Chris Eubanks during his run to the Miami quarters this year.
Talking with Eubanks, Tiafoe expressed his amazement to having Jamie Foxx come to watch Chris.
“Jamie Foxx. When you’re playing the Miami quarters, he didn’t come to watch you and 14 others, he came to watch you. That’s the dope thing. He got on a plane to watch Chris Eubanks. That feeling, battling and seeing him in a box, knowing I know he came to see you. That’s tough,” said Tiafoe.
Eubanks confirmed the actor’s passion for tennis.
“Just the fact that he came, I was like: ‘he really showed up and he loves tennis.’ He talked about Jimmy Connors. He talked about Ilie Nastase. He knows tennis,” said Eubanks.
Then, Tiafoe remarked what’s the main benefit of having celebrities come to your matches.
“The thing is, it’s not that he actually showed up. That’s when you realize you did some good,” said Tiafoe.
Eubanks slid in a joke.
“They’re not going to pull up in the second round of Kerry Challenger. Good to see you again. Like fourth year in a row, huh?” Eubanks responded.
Jamie Foxx considers Chris Eubanks “a good friend”
Jamie Foxx reacted on Instagram after Eubanks broke into top 100 players in the world following his Miami run.
“Blood sweat and tears and true hard work has paid off for my good friend @chris_eubanks96 tennis is your passion, my friend continue to rise and congratulations on breaking into the top 100 players in the world!” Foxx wrote on Instagram.
Eubanks responded: “I appreciate your love and support Big Bro!”
