Tennis star Naomi Osaka has announced that she is expecting her first child in June or July.
The 25-year-old player revealed her pregnancy in January and plans to focus on returning to the sport after giving birth.
Osaka, who won the Australian Open in 2021, struggled in the rest of the season, appearing in 11 tournaments but failing to secure any titles. However, the athlete is determined to come back stronger and perform better in the upcoming tournaments.
Osaka’s partner, Cordae, is the father of the child, but the gender of the baby remains unknown. Despite the impending arrival of her baby, Osaka is preparing to embrace this new chapter of her life.
“I think what I’m looking forward to most is the challenges and just learning. I think there’s going to be a lot of things that I don’t know, but I have a lot of really amazing people close to me that I can ask questions about. Just a new adventure. I’ve been preparing, but he doesn’t know the gender yet, only I know. So it’s not like I can build out the room or anything. So I don’t know, [I’m] just kind of winging it. That’s kind of the key motto in my life a little,” Osaka said.
