Cori Gauff falls for photoshopped Daniil Medvedev-Andrey Rublev image: You fooled me

Cori Gauff found it hilarious that she fell for a photoshopped image of Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev.

After Medvedev and Rublev booked a Dubai final meeting, one Twitter user photoshopped one of Rublev’s pictures from his junior days.

In the picture, the user replaced the face of Bogdan Borza – the junior who was in the picture with Rublev – with the face of Medvedev.

“You fooled me. this is gold,” Gauff tweeted.

Gauff preparing for the Sunshine Double

Meanwhile, Gauff is back in the United States and preparing for the upcoming WTA 1000 events in Indian Wells and Miami.

Most recently, Gauff played in Dubai, where she reached the semifinal before losing to Iga Swiatek.

Gauff, who will be turning 19 on March 13th, will celebrate her birthday in Indian Wells.

In the desert, Gauff is set to make her third consecutive appearance.

In her Indian Wells debut in 2021, Gauff made the third round before losing to eventual champion Paula Badosa.

Last year, Gauff also reached the Indian Wells third round before losing against Simona Halep.

But now, Gauff is a better and more improved player.

During her Dubai campaign, Gauff opened up about learning to stay calm and composed even when it gets tough.

“Oh, definitely teach myself. I’m still not perfect. There’s moments where I definitely get frantic. But I think it’s improving. I feel like at least now, the last couple matches, you can’t really get more calm than this. I’m not trying to go on the court and not crack a reaction at all. Unless you’re like Roger, it’s quite impossible. There’s times I might get on myself. That’s just my personality. I think it’s more so not necessarily the reaction, it’s more so how fast you can reset from that reaction,” Gauff said in Dubai.

It remains to be seen if this will be the year where Gauff will make a deep Indian Wells run.
