John McEnroe: Hard not to see Novak Djokovic win two, three more Grand Slams

John McEnroe believes 35-year-old Novak Djokovic can win at least two or three more Grand Slam titles after making it all the way at the Australian Open.

On Sunday, Djokovic handed Stefanos Tsitsipas a straight-set defeat in the Australian Open final.

Djokovic, who will be turning 36 in May, is still very healthy and he is now tied with Rafael Nadal on the all-time Grand Slam record list with 22 Majors.

Djokovic is still a very dominant figure in the tennis world and McEnroe says it is hard to imagine the Serb never again winning a Grand Slam.

McEnroe tips Djokovic for more Grand Slam success

“I don’t know how many more he’s going to win, but it’s hard to see him not win a minimum of two or three more. Roger [Federer] won three from 35 onwards, Rafa won three. Novak is probably the best of those three athletically. He hasn’t had a lot of injuries, so I could easily see him winning at least three more. I believe him [when the Serb says it’s his biggest victory, with all that’s happened in the last year]. I’ve never seen Novak so emotional. He’s unbelievably resilient and is a tremendous asset to our game. He’s a phenomenal athlete and player, as well as a phenomenal person. Novak is a master at self-motivation, finding more ways to get hungry, doing what it takes to improve. It takes a lot of dedication. That’s why the three guys [Djokovic, Nadal and Federer] are where they are. They’re hungrier than the other players, more disciplined, and do whatever it takes,” McEnroe told Eurosport

In late May and early June, Djokovic will try to win his third French Open title.

After the French Open, Djokovic will turn his focus to Wimbledon, where he will try to win his eighth title.

When it comes to the US Open, Djokovic wasn’t allowed to enter the US as an unvaccinated foreigner last year and those vaccine laws still haven’t changed.
