Corentin Moutet addresses fight at the net with Adrian Andreev

Corentin Moutet claimed Adrian Andreev cussed him out twice after their Orleans Challenger match.

After Andreev claimed a 2-6 7-6 (3) 7-6 (2) win over Moutet, it got physical between the two.

“I don’t want to apologize for what happened late in the game,” Moutet said on social media after the match, as quoted on Tennis Now. “When a player allows himself to say ‘f— you twice while looking me in the eye, I can’t help but make him understand in my own way that these are not things that are done.”

According to Moutet, Andreev threatened him and wanted to meet him in the locker room.

But when Moutet went to find Andreev, he noticed the Bulgarian “hiding” behind the security crew.

“He threatened me and asked me to wait for him at the exit of the court, something I did of course I have trouble finding him for 10 minutes,” Moutet said. “Indeed he was hidden on the other side behind 6 security people.”

Moutet is not afraid of Andreev

Moutet suggested to Andreev they can continue their “conversation” in the future.

“I heard your threats so when you get out of the room they hid you in I will be very happy to see you carry them out,” he said. “So I’m waiting for you impatiently, we can talk calmly.”

Also, Moutet expressed his gratitude to the Orleans organizers who gave him a wildcard into the tournament.

Moutet, who was the first-seeded player in Orleans, was hoping to make it all the way in front of his home fans.

“I did my best, I would have liked to go further to honor it better,” he said. “I’m sorry for it.”

Moutet, 23, was playing in Orleans for the fourth time in his career.

Moutet’s best results in Orleans remains the semifinal he achieved at the tournament last year.
