ATP Tennis TV has chosen the 5 best matches of 2023. The survey launched by the social accounts of the Association of Tennis Professionals focused on Grand Slam tournaments. There are five matches selected by Tennis TV, which still gives fans the opportunity to suggest new matches.
Going in chronological order, the first match chosen concerns the quarter-final match won by Daniil Medvedev against Felix Auger-Aliassime at the Australian Open. The Russian, on that occasion, managed to cancel a match point to his rival in the fourth set before re-establishing the hierarchy in the decisive set.
The second match, on the other hand, could only relive the incredible comeback completed by Rafael Nadal against Medvedev in the final of the first Grand Slam of the year. Down by two sets, 2-3 and 0-40, the Majorcan has found a way to amaze the world of sport once again. After canceling the three consecutive break points offered to the Russian, Nadal began to put Medvedev in difficulty also in response and gave him a double 6-4. Finally, in the decisive set, the Spaniard pinned Medvedev to 7-5 and lifted his 21st career Grand Slam to the sky.

Nadal is also the protagonist of the third challenge proposed by Tennis TV. This is the 59th chapter of the saga between the Spaniard and Novak Djokovic which took place at the Roland Garros. The two faced each other in the quarterfinals in what most insiders have defined as an early final. Nadal, despite the foot problem, appeared very fit and dismissed the historic rival with a score of 6-2, 4-6, 6-2, 7-6 (4). The Manacor phenomenon then won the 22nd Major by clearly beating Casper Ruud in the final.
The last two games proposed by Tennis TV have seen Jannik Sinner take the field. In both cases, however, the Italian lost the match in the fifth set. The first refers to the quarter-finals played at Wimbledon by Sinner against Djokovic. Sinner won the first two sets with great stubbornness, but then suffered the return of the Serbian. Djokovic raised his head and never gave Sinner any more opportunities. Having transformed his comeback intentions into reality, the Belgrade then took home the tournament and added another Major to his palmares: the number 21 in his career.
Then Carlos Alcaraz’s win against SinnerĀ in the quarter-finals of the US Open. The Spaniard proved to suffer from Sinner’s tennis and had to face a match point in response in the tenth game of the fourth set. A match point that went away too quickly that ended up scratching the Italian’s mental strength. Sinner took the lead 3-2 and served in the fifth portion of the game; but the break signed at the partial start turned out to be the last game of his match. Alcaraz has racked up four games in a row and earned access to the semi-finals of the US Open. The Spaniard would then win the first major in his career and reach the top of the world ranking becoming the youngest number one in history.
