Unvaccinated US swimmer will enter Australia, Djokovic’s fans furious

Novak Djokovic was unable to play in Cincinnati due to the entry rules still in force in the USA. The United States Center for Disease Control specifically announced that unvaccinated people will be able to follow the same provisions as vaccinated people.

The new regulation will apply to all US citizens; Djokovic’s hope is that it will also be extended to individuals from abroad. The Center for Disease Control has also loosened many of the anti-Covid measures still in force in the country and set a concrete change of pace.

Nole is continuing to train intensely with the aim of showing up in the best possible conditions at Flushing Meadows in case of the green light.

Australia will bring in unvaccinated US swimmer after Novak Djokovic refused

Michael Andrew, a US swimmer who chose to remain unvaccinated and refused to wear a mask in the mixed zone after competing in Tokyo 2022, will enter Australia despite his unvaccinated status.

Andrew won gold in the 4x100m mixed relay. According to The Courier Mail, Andrew will be free to travel to Australia for the Duel in the Pool between the US and Australia in Sydney. An incredible situation after the media storm that hit Novak Djokovic last January and that put the Australian government in crisis.
The Serb was expelled from Australia after initially traveling to Melbourne for the Australian Open.

However, changes to travel requirements have seen Australia’s position regarding the Covid vaccine soften, allowing Andrew to enter the country. Andrew has revealed that he has received death threats and evil messages for his Covid stance, insisting that he is not a mad anti-vax.

He said: “I’m not trying to be that guy, I’m just trying to swim fast and show people the passion and purpose I have for my sport. Of course when you believe in something it’s good to talk, but I’m not here to try to express my views on people or why people take it so seriously. We have the freedom to decide for ourselves and decide what we want, I’m just here to swim as fast as possible.”
