Cincinnati Masters champion Borna Coric revealed he was trying to pull off the Kylian Mpabbe crossed arms celebration following his victory Cincinnati final victory over Stefanos Tsitsipas.
In the Cincinnati final, Coric upset fourth-seeded Tsitsipas 7-6 (0) 6-2 to win his maiden Masters title.
During on-court trophy presentation, the cameras caught Coric standing with his arms crossed.
On Monday, Coric took to Twitter, where cracked a joke when reflecting on his attemptĀ to pull offĀ Mbappe’s popular celebration.
“How it looked when you ordered online vs how it looked when it arrived. @KMbappe sorry for borrowing your celebration,” Coric tweeted.

Coric recovered from an early break down versus Tsitsipas
Going into the final, the experience of playing in big finals was absolutely on Tsitsipas’ side.
Tsitsipas took the advantage of his experience and opened up an early 4-1 lead.
But Coric refused to quit as he got the break back and forced a tie-break, which he won without a dropped point.
Then, Coric broke Tsitsipas twice in the second set to complete a straight-set win.
āIt was a very, very tough match. At the beginning I wasnāt playing very well and he was pushing me very hard. But I started to serve better and play better and I was fighting hard,ā Coric said. āThen in the second set I thought I played the best set of the whole year.ā
At the age of 25, Coric became a Masters champion for the first time in his career.
After the final, Coric took a moment to say a simple thank you to his team members.
āThank you to my parents, who are not here, my sister and my team. It has been very tough for us,ā Coric added. āWith my physio, if I didnāt have him I wouldnāt be on the court. Then of course to my tennis coach, Mate. We have been working very hard and now we are here.ā
