Carlos Alcaraz has not a good feeling with finals against Italian tennis players. After the defeat in Hamburg in the final against Lorenzo Musetti, it comes the defeat at the ATP tournament in Umag against Jannik Sinner.
It is the second consecutive victory in the clashes between the two young tennjis stars, the second in about a month after the success of Wimbledon.
Sinner wins a match initially fought but which saw him slowly take the lead and dominated against a tired Alcaraz in the second and third set. One-way challenge and Sinner won his sixth career title and his first in 2022, the first under the management of the new coach Darren Cahill.
The growth of the italian is evident and the victory over Alcaraz is also his first victory on a Top 5 in his career. Now the Italian and the Spaniard will be two of he most awaited protagonists of the upcomin US season on hard-courts.
