The six-time Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic is through to the semi-final at the grass Major. Novak came from two sets to love down for the sixth time in his career and toppled the young gun Jannik Sinner 5-7, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 in three hours and 35 minutes for a place in the last four. Djokovic did not play well in the opening two sets despite building the lead in the first, struggling with his movement and on the second serve. Jannik used that and forged a massive advantage that moved him closer to the finish line. Still, that was all we saw from him, as Novak took charge from set number three to break the rival’s resistance and remain on the title course.
Novak Djokovic defeated Jannik Sinner in five sets at Wimbledon.
Djokovic made the difference with his first serve and saved five out of nine break chances. He faced only two break points after the second set, and the pressure was on Sinner. The youngster got broken only once in the first part of the clash, and Djokovic secured five breaks in sets three, four and five to control the scoreboard and march over the finish line. It’s Novak’s third comeback from two sets to love down at Wimbledon.
