John McEnroe repeated his belief regarding Novak Djokovic’s participation in the US Open 2022. John explained: “We have to find a way for Novak Djokovic to participate in the US OPEN. How is it possible that a champion with his characteristics cannot play the tournament? He just won Wimbledon.”
McEnroe has called the idea of āāexcluding Djokovic from the Grand Slam to be held in late August in the States crazy. The former US tennis player, although opposed to Nole’s choice not to get vaccinated, however added: “I don’t agree with his choice not to get vaccinated but we are saying that because of his choice, he cannot play US Open.”
Immediately after he recalled that it would not be the first time that the Serb would be excluded from a Grand Slam tournament: “I mean, come on. He has already been expelled from Australia for the same reason and here we are again!”
McEnroe then asaid aboutĀ USTA: “There is absolutely no reason at this stage of the pandemic not to allow Djokovic to play in the US Open 2022. The US government and the USTA must work together to allow him to play. If unvaccinated American players can play, they must. you also allow Djokovic to play. He is one of the legends of this sport. Make it happen, USTA! ”
