Karolina Pliskova reached the second round of the Bett1 Open on Monday with a comeback win over Kaia Kanepi. The former world no. 1 completed a 6-7(5), 6-0, 6-0 win over the Estonian in an hour and 43 minutes.Â
Kanepi had seven break points on the Czech’s serve in the opening set but wasn’t able to convert any of those. And although she prevailed in the tie-break to take a lead in the match, over the course of the latter two sets, she wasn’t able to trouble Pliskova much. On the other hand, her game came apart and she lost her serve six times to concede the match to her opponent.
