The young American star Coco Gauff defeated Yulia Putinsteva in three sets, after a hard-fought match, which ended with the final score of 6-1 2-6 6-4, qualifying for the third round of the WTA event in Madrid, where, at the next round, she will challenge Simona Halep.
Halep who, under the gaze of her new coach Patrick Mouratoglou, qualified for the third round of the Mutua Madrid Open 2022 thanks to the victory in straight sets, with the score of 6-2 6-1, against the Spanish Paula Badosa, in a match lasted just over an hour of play.
The number two in the world remains clinging to the game until 3-3: especially thanks to physical problems, she has practically time to move the score only on another occasion and to obtain a handful of chances for the 2-5.
The 6-3 6-1 final basically remains a logical consequence. For the Romanian this will be a chance concereta in a segment of the board now apparently freer.
