Djokovic: Ibra, you are the best
In his story, Djokovic showed respect to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, stating in Serbian that Ibrahimovic is “the best.”
Meanwhile, Djokovic has started his French Open campaign with a 6-3 6-1 6-0 victory over Yoshiito Nishioka.
Djokovic looked extremely well in his French Open first round match and that was a promising start to his title defence.
“Have to be pleased with the start [to the tournament],” Djokovic said. “Beginning of the match, until I really got used to and adapted to his game, it was difficult to go through him. He’s very quick, one of the quickest players on the tour.
“The conditions [were] quite slow. The ball was not bouncing, and it was just difficult to penetrate him. So the first set was very close, but I managed to find the right serves at the right time. That helped. Then I cruised through the second and third really when I started going through the ball a bit more.”
Djokovic didn’t look good at the start of the clay season but has since found his game and rhythm.
Djokovic performed extremely well in Rome and now has made a positive start to his French Open campaign.
Djokovic captured his second French Open title last year and now he is among top favorites for this year’s crown at Roland Garros.
