Sebastian Korda talks having dad Petr, tennis legend Andre Agassi in his corner

Sebastian Korda, 21, has quite a team around him as he can turn to his father Petr Korda and former world No. 1 Andre Agassi whenever he needs advice.

Also, Korda works full-time with coach Dean Goldfine.

Korda’s father, Petr, enjoyed a great career as he was a Grand Slam champion and once ranked at No. 2 in the world.

Having Agassi in his corner also helps as the former eight-Grand Slam champion is considered as one of the true legends of the game.

“Yeah, I’ve got a lot of great people in my corner. I’ve got my dad and my coach, Dean Goldfine, Andre Agassi,” Korda said.

“I have got a lot of knowledge and a lot of experience in my corner. So it’s a lot of great talks, and I try and take in as much as possible, yeah, try to use it the way I can,” Korda added.

This week, Korda kicked off his clay season.

In his first clay match of the year, Korda defeated Botic Van de Zandschulp in the Monte Carlo Masters first round.

After a solid win over Van de Zandschulp, Korda delivered a great performance in the second round to stun Carlos Alcaraz 7-6 (2) 6-7 (5) 6-3.

Korda and Alcaraz are considered as one of the brightest players on the tour and they put up a show in Monte Carlo.

“It was nice to get the victory today, Korda said in his on-court interview after beating Alcaraz. “I stayed calm and believed in my returning. It was super tough, every time he threw up the ball it moved around. It was a crazy match.”

Unfortunately for Korda, he failed to back up his win over Alcaraz as he lost to Taylor Fritz in his following Monte Carlo match.
